Graig Stephens, 40 year educator and community leader, was born in King City and raised in Soledad where his interest in education first blossomed.

After completing his education, Graig started on his journey of service and leadership. He first taught 3 years in Ridgecrest before he returned to Gonzales High to teach for 27 years and then ended his career at Soledad High, teaching an additional 10 years. While at Gonzales, he coached JV baseball for several years and started the girls' varsity and IV softball program.

In addition to his teaching career, Graig's commitment to serving his community is exemplary. He served on the Soledad City Council for 8 years and one term as mayor. He served in the Soledad Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years serving in various officer positions, including fire chief. Much of his time in the fire service he was a medical first responder going to medical emergencies and traffic accidents in the department's response area. Having been a member of the Soledad Health Care District for over a decade, he currently holds the position of board president, illustrating his steadfast commitment to public service and the well-being of the community.

Graig's involvement in various community organizations, including the Soledad Historical Society and the Soledad Education Foundation, underscores his unwavering commitment to the betterment pf Soledad and its residents.
