A Message from Our CEO, Ida Lopez Chan
Soledad Community Health Care District, like many rural health systems, depends heavily on Medicare and Medi-Cal funding — programs that currently support over 75% of our patients. With potential cuts to these reimbursements on the horizon, our ability to continue offering critical services at Eden Valley Care Center, Soledad Medical Clinic, and the Women’s Health Center is at risk.

Through these uncertain times, our mission remains the same: to serve our community with integrity, care, and strength. We are exploring all avenues to ensure the long-term sustainability of your local healthcare district — from legislative advocacy to responsible fiscal planning.
We are inviting our community members, partners, and advocates to join us in a unified call to action. A letter from our CEO, Ida Lopez Chan, outlines the challenges we face and how you can help ensure the future of healthcare access in South Monterey County. Together, we can make our voices heard and protect the services our families depend on.
